Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Types of paper
Contributions falling into the following categories will be considered for publication: original research papers, reviews, short communications. Please ensure that you select the appropriate article type from the list of options when making your submission. Authors contributing to special issues should ensure that they select the special issue article type from this list.
Submission checklist
You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for review. Please check the relevant section in this Guide for Authors for more details.
Ensure that the following items are present:

Ethics in publishing
Human and animal rights
If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with http://www.wma.net (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans; http://www.icmje.org Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed. All animal experiments should comply with the and should be carried out in http://www.nc3rs.org.uk/arrive-guidelines accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines ,EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments or the National Institutes of Health guide for the care and use of Laboratory animals (NIH Publications No. 8023, revised 1978) and the authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed.


 INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS


The Iraqi journal of pharmaceutical sciences (Iraqi j pharm Sci) publishes papers on various aspects of pharmaceutical and medical science:
1.The journal publishes the home and foreign articles submitted by researchers then subjected for evaluation and should fall into one of the following groups:
•Original research work containing basic or practical results.
•Laboratory notes (short communications).
•Case Reports.
2.The articles has not been published previously and is not currently under consideration for publication else where.
3.All articles accepted for publications must be approved by referees and revised by the editorial board. The editorial board reserves the right to ask for modifications of the text by the authors.
4.Articles should be submitted in triplicate, typewritten double spaced with a margin 2.5 cm wide on both sides of an A4 paper.
5.The Articles are in English and it should be divided into the following sections:
•Title should be submitted on separate sheet and contain the following informations:
Title , name , address of author (s).
Name and address of the corresponding author ( Phone no. , E-mail ID )
Running title which is a short title printed in the Journal at the right corner of right hand page of the article ( except the lead page ) . A short title of not more than 50 character should be given.
•Abstract typed separately in both languages not exceeding 200and should contain
3 – 5 key words
•Introduction
•Materials and methods.
•Results.
•Discussion.
•Acknowledgments.
•References.
6.It should be mentioned if the research is abstracted from M.Sc. or Ph.D. thesis .
7.All the scientific abbreviations should be mentioned in full which first referred to in paper; otherwise the SI units and their abbreviations should always be used .
8.Discussion can be included within results in certain circumstances .
9.Figures. graphs, legend and tables, should be drawn and typed carefully and clearly on separate sheets arranged at the end of text.
10.References should be numbered in one consecutive series by order of appearance in the text.
11.The list of references; should be typed on a separate sheet paper and arranged numerically according to their appearance in the text and they should be written as follows :
a) Journals name abbreviations should be according to the chemical abstract service source index and according to the following sequence:
Name of the author(s), Title of the articles, name of the journal, Year, Volume and the first and last page of the paper.
References in the chemical abstract can also be used for references that are not available Articles that are officially accepted for publication should be written as in press “ or Unpublished results “after the name(s) of the author(s)
b) Books should be written as follows:
Name(s) of author(s), name of the book, edition, editor (publisher), place of publication, year, and the first and last page of the chapter.
12.The total number of words in the research paper should not exceed 5000 .
13.For any article accepted for publication , the author(s) or the corresponding author should agree to transfer the copy right to the journal and sign a declaration of this effect .
